Today was my first day on the job…
There were so many red flags on the tour I should have noticed. I still remember walking along the catwalk and my manager pointing out this sketchy power box with wires coming out of it on the overhang. “Don’t touch that box or the cables coming out of it, the security system for these pens dropped out on us so that is our temporary fix… it leaves some dead spots but the felines don’t know that”. That should have been my first red flag. The second should have come when I asked “But what if they do get out, we cant touch them and we don’t carry around any tools to restrain them.” and get the response “Just don’t be the first one though the door if they do get out.” along with a laugh…
Well I was the first one though the door.
They managed to get him off me at least, but it was too late and I was swiftly shoved in the pen he once inhabited. That is how I got where I am now, stuck in my own head, in this shiny feline body, with nothing to do but remember how dumb I was for missing those glaring warnings. But this does raise some questions… Those cables looked like they had been there for a while, was that cat someone who suffered the same fate as me… and if so, is the only way out to do the same to another?
Well I got more time now for art, so here is my first piece in a fair bit of time that I was able to sit down and noodle with every last bit. First 4k pic too!
