Black Cat Strain

It seems hanging around me brings goopy bad luck.

It all started when my yeen pal Frisky mentioned something about an old abandoned ‘medical’ marijuana plant. He knew I liked my photography and said I could probably get some good shots there… how could I resist that? Of course I had to ask ‘why this place?’. He linked me to a Wikipedia article about the ‘Black Cat Strain’…

To paraphrase it, apparently this place actually was used for extraction for medical use, but got shut down by the FDA, and raided a week later because of “Homeland Security Issues”. Whatever that meant.

My intrigue was peaked, the time and day set, and the date came.

Getting to the warehouse with this supposed weed strain was pretty normal for sneaking into abandoned areas. Gotta hop a fence, watch where you step, make sure to not act too suspicious… and then we got to the door.

The door was even more strange than the story, it wasn’t rusted and almost looked to have some upkeep on it, minus the weird black stains on the push bar. The only thing old looking about this door was the sign, something about ‘Researchers must use other door’. Another strange thing but it probably was just left over from that raid… I think.

Well I went in first, being a feline I can be light and sneaky, perfect for checking if it was safe. Other than the usual dangers like rebar and sudden drops that usually had railings, the only thing that jumped out as ‘dangerous’ was a crack in the pipe just above the door. Not like we can hit the pipe so I went to set up my camera to get a pic of the big tank before calling in Frisky.

What I had not expected at the time, was for him to slam the door as he ran in with excitement. I was looking through the eyepiece…

Slam, Creak, Crack, Splat, Vanished.

Something that viscous falling on you can’t be light, but he got up easily, only to fall again when trying to jump over one of the concrete walls. But he got up again luckily… but on all fours this time. As he hopped up on the concrete slab in front of the camera the name made sense, seems like whatever they did to that product had a shiny by-product. Well I cant stop it now, so I gave him a blunt and a light and snapped away.

Hope he is having fun, but based on his eyes and… pleasure… he seems to not mind~

I’m sure Caz will be excited to have a shiny friend at least.

I loved doing the hair on this one, getting the fur and latex to have a good mix without it looking all clippy was for sure worth the work, gunna have to save this shader setup.

I should note that commissions are not a normal thing I do, this just happened to work out that this pic was quite doable with my current cat setup. I am not a character artist so I cant really make more sadly.
